On the second Wednesday of the month, Dementia Friendly Tempe (DFT) Presents meets from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, to discuss a specific topic about dementia will be presented by a professional in the field.  Dementia Friendly Tempe presents offers FREE education lectures to raise community awareness of memory loss conditions and help families access available resources.

Helping Caregivers Find Meaning While Living with Loss

Caring for someone with dementia creates ongoing awareness of loss as the person with dementia is physically present but psychologically different from who they once were. This "ambiguous loss" is confusing and frustrating for the family and others who care about them. This class explains this loss and provides strategies for better coping to infuse hope and meaning into one’s life.

Mindfulness Matters

The holidays can provide increased stress on caregivers and persons with memory loss. This class will present evidence-based mindfulness practices that can optimize well-being and stress resiliency. Dr.
